Find the lowest game prices

Welcome to Game Ninja!

This site is evolving and  you will notice daily changes in functionality and content. If you have suggestions, please let us know at ninja@gameninja.co.uk.

Compare game prices and find the best deals.

Either find your game using the search, or use the menu to browse games by platform. The search results will show you the best deals. I will be adding more shops later to find the best deals in the U.K.

Find the cheapest games in the UK - Beta

The price comparison feature is now available on gameninja.co.uk. It allows you to search games and compare prices of different online shops. I will be adding more shops later on, but for now prices from the following shops are used:

  • Game,
  • Asda,
  • Clickagame,
  • Games4u,
  • Gamestation,
  • Play,
  • and Zavvi.

I will be adding Amazon, Tesco and others that I have to contact first in order to improve the quality of the site and offer you the lowest game prices.

Please let me know if you have any feedback at ninja@gameninja.com!

Price comparison

I am currently working on an extended search facility, that allows you to compare the prices between game shops. With this search you will be able to find the game that you want to buy for the lowest price. This work in progress, but I'm expecting it to be working in a week.

I found that the price of the same game can be very different depending on where you buy it. When Call of Duty 4 came out, there was a difference in price of about £15 between the cheapest and most expensive shop. Also for older games, the price range is huge. I've noticed difference of £30 on a single game! I know that there are quite a few sites out there that compare prices, but I want a game specific site so I don't get bothered with stuff i'm not interested in. So please check back at the end of the year and try out my new game price search facility.

The other thing I'm working on is a rating for games. The idea behind this is to combine this with the search, in order to find the best games for the best price. This will take a bit longer and I expect it to be ready in January 2010. I might add in a forum later on.

Which platform?

What game platform should you choose (playstation, wii, xbox)?

Choosing the right gaming platform gives you three mainstream options:

1. Playstation
2. Xbox
3. Wii
4. PC

In my opinion, the PC is the best platform for games, but ONLY if you pimp it properly with fast harddrives, lots of memory, fast memory/physics cards etc. Then you've got the latest and fastest platform to play games on. This is however also the most expensive option. Hardcore gamers prefer a pc also because of the usage of a mouse as a controller, especially for shooter games.

The Wii is perfect for playing games together (with the family) and if you don't want your kids to be exposed to gore, violence etc. The controllers are fantastic and definitely add to the gaming experience. The graphics however, are not as good as the other options, but the gameplay makes up for it. The other thing to keep in mind is that you need to have enough space to play games as you'll be swinging the controllers a lot!

Then there is the difficult choice between Playstation and Xbox. If you want to buy lots of cheap games, go for the older versions of the consoles (playstation 2 or xbox classic) or buy them both for cheap on ebay.
The choice between Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 is a bit harder. If you are into superb graphics (and the additional benefit of a blueray drive) best to get the Playstation 3 (they have gone down in price recently). I also think that Playstation 3 has got the best shooters (Killzone 2 is a good example).
Xbox 360 has got some very good racing games (Forza) and is a good allrounder with excellent online play.
If you're into online gaming, I advice to buy the platform that most of your friends own, so you can play together.

These are my opinions and are subjective, as I own a Wii, Playstation 2 and Playstation 3.

(Based on your feedback, I'll update the table below)

Choose a platform - reference table
